BUILT HERE IN GREAT BRITAIN
One of the things we’re particularly proud of at Militex is where our watches are built.
From the very beginning, we wanted to keep as much of the process as possible right here in Great Britain. Not simply because it sounds good, but because we genuinely believe in supporting British skills, British workers and British manufacturing.
Every Militex watch is assembled here in Great Britain, giving us hands-on control over the process and, importantly, over the quality of the components that go into each watch.
And because we’re a small operation, we can be rather particular about things.
We check, we test, we inspect and, if something isn’t right, we don’t just shrug our shoulders and send it on its way. It gets sorted.
At the heart of every Militex is a genuine Seiko/TMI movement. We chose Seiko/TMI movements because they have a well-earned reputation for being robust, reliable and dependable — exactly the qualities we want in a Militex.
We also made a conscious decision not to outsource the manufacture of our watches to China. Keeping production and assembly closer to home means we can maintain much greater oversight of what we’re doing, rather than handing the process over and hoping everything comes back as it should.
It also means that when you buy a Militex, you’re not just buying a watch with our name on the dial.
You’re buying something we’ve had our hands on.
That matters to us.
We may be a small British watch brand, but we’re determined that every Militex should leave our workshop looking right, feeling right and meeting the standards we expect ourselves.
Because at the end of the day, our name is on it.
And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
OUR HOME AT DUXFORD
There are offices... and then there’s Duxford.
We feel incredibly lucky to have our Militex office based in the former Officers’ Mess at Duxford Airfield in Cambridgeshire — a place with an extraordinary history and a pretty impressive list of stories to tell.
Today, Duxford is home to the Imperial War Museum, but during its long and fascinating history, this airfield was home to some remarkable men, women and machines.
And there’s another part of Duxford’s history that particularly caught our imagination.
The “Duxford Spirit.”
It was a time when brave (and perhaps slightly mad!) men and women took to the abandoned runways in their machines, chasing speed, thrills and records.
That sense of adventure, ingenuity and British determination is something we really connect with.
Perhaps it’s no coincidence, then, that a watch company called Militex ended up here.
Great things often start with a bit of curiosity, a willingness to have a go, and perhaps just a touch of madness.
